Book a room

On the studio’s calendar, press New booking and choose the date, time, length, room and rate. You sign in, accept the studio’s booking terms and, where the studio takes payment online, finish the payment step: the booking is then confirmed, with no approval to wait for.

In this section

Anyone can look at a studio’s calendar without signing in. Where the studio has turned online booking on, the calendar has a New booking button; without it, contact the studio to book.

Make a booking

  1. On the studio’s calendar (Calendar, or Book a room if you’re not signed in), press New booking.
  2. Choose the Date, a Duration and a Start time, then the Room and the Rate. Only start times that are open for that length are offered, then only the rooms open at that time; if none are, the form says so and you can try another length or day.
  3. If you like, add Notes for the studio (optional) and pick a reminder. If the room has rules, read them and agree to them.
  4. Press Continue booking. If you are not signed in yet, you sign in with a code sent to your phone; the first time, you also add your name (see Your account and signing in).
  5. Check the summary, then tick the box to accept the studio’s booking terms, including its payment, cancellation and change policies. Read the terms opens them.
  6. Where the studio takes card payments online, finish the payment step: depending on the studio, you pay now or save a card it charges later. At a studio that doesn’t, or at a free rate, there is no payment step.

When the last step is done, your booking is confirmed. It shows on the calendar as Your session and in My bookings, where you open it to see its details, its policies and what you can still do with it.

A tentative hold

The studio can also place a booking for you as a tentative hold. Its page says it isn’t confirmed yet and that nothing has been charged. You can cancel a hold for free at any time before it starts; to change it, contact the studio.

Want the same time every week? Turn on Repeat weekly in the same form, where the studio allows it and takes payment online: see Book a weekly series. How far ahead you can book, and when, is up to the studio: see When you can book.

ExampleA two-hour rehearsal on Friday

You want a room for two hours on Friday evening. You open the studio’s calendar without signing in and press New booking.

  • You choose Friday and a duration of 2 hours. A 7:00 p.m. start is not offered, because no room is free from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; 8:30 p.m. is, so you pick it.
  • You choose a room open at that time and its rate, add a note that you are bringing your own drum kit, and press Continue booking.
  • You are not signed in, so you enter your phone number and the 6-digit code that arrives by text.
  • You check the summary, tick the box to accept the studio’s booking terms, and finish the payment step.
  • The booking is confirmed right away: Friday, 8:30–10:30 p.m. shows as Your session, and it is in My bookings.
