Language
Quorin is in English and French. Once you are signed in, the pages and the messages a studio sends you follow your account’s language, as long as the studio offers it (a link that names a language wins for that page); otherwise you get the studio’s own language.
In this section
How the language is chosen
For each page, the first of these that applies wins:
- A language named in the page’s address (
?lang=fr). If you are signed in, it applies to that page only; if not, this device remembers it. - Your account’s language, when you are signed in and it is set.
- The language last picked on this device.
- Your browser’s language.
- The studio’s own language (English on pages that don’t belong to a studio).
On a studio’s pages, the result must be a language the studio offers. If it is not, you see the studio’s own language.
Change your language
- Signed in: use Language in your account menu (on a phone, in the Menu tab under Preferences), or on the Account page under Preferences. Your pick becomes your account’s language, on every device.
- Not signed in: use the EN | FR switch at the top of the page (on a phone, in the Menu tab). It is remembered on this device only.
At a studio that offers only one language, neither switch is shown. The Language row on the Account page is always there.
The first time you sign in, your account’s language is set from the language you were already using: the page’s address, this device or your browser. Pick another one at any time and your pick wins.
Messages and the studio’s own text
Texts and emails from a studio are in your account’s language when the studio offers it, otherwise in the studio’s language.
Room names, descriptions and room rules are written by the studio. You see the version in your language when the studio wrote one; otherwise you see the studio’s own text.
ExampleA French-and-English studio, an English account
Your account’s language is English. You book at a studio that offers French and English, and whose own language is French.
- Its pages are in English for you, on your phone and on your laptop.
- Its booking texts and emails reach you in English.
- A room the studio described only in French shows that French description.
- At a studio that offers only French, its pages and messages are in French for you, and the menu has no language switch. Your account stays English everywhere else.
