Booking reminders

A reminder is one message sent before a booking starts, on the channel set for that booking — nothing more. It is chosen per booking, not once for the whole account.

In this section

Every new booking starts from your stored defaults — a moment (say, 1 day before) and a channel (SMS, email, or both) — which you set in your account under Notifications, where the channel follows your messaging setting. Those defaults pre-fill the Reminder row on each new booking; changing or clearing it there affects only that one booking, whatever your defaults say.

ExampleRehearsal, Friday at 7 p.m.

The booking's reminder is set to 1 day before, by SMS.

  • The text arrives around 7 p.m. on Thursday — one day ahead of the booking's own start time.
  • Move the booking to Saturday and the reminder moves with it, still one day ahead of the new start time.

SMS needs a phone number on file; email needs a verified email address — a channel with neither is not offered on the picker. A reminder you set on a booking still goes out even if your default is No reminder, or you turned that channel off for the studio’s messages: it is a request you made for that booking. A reminder the studio sets for you follows your settings: it is never sent on a channel you turned off. No reminder goes to a phone number that replied STOP or to an email address where a message has bounced.
